Florida Week 3 - Caleb Visit Day 4

A high of 72 today so another day on the Beach.  Caleb is getting to be an old hand at this
Not a lot of traffic on the road this morning
Caleb tries biking on the beach but the tide has just started to go out and the sand is soft

It's hard work pedaling so he tries the surf

 Today he takes the plunge

A little body surfing

  A walk along the beach
and a little tug of war with the dog

Back home to clean up and get ready for the Nights of Lights Trolley in St. Augustine.

Dinner first at the Bull and Crown

Then a walk about town waiting for it to get dark.
Never know what you'll run into here.

It finally gets dark and we take off on the trolley

It goes up and down the streets of Old Town

They give you glasses that turns the lights into either snowmen, reindeer or snowflakes - we got snowmen

It is a fun feature as the whole town becomes illuminated with dancing snowmen.

Everyone waves and we sing along to Christmas Carrols

All good things must come to an end.

Today we start out at Princess Place Preserve.  Caleb makes himself at home.

 Looks like high tide

After a short tour, Caleb practices driving skills and drives us out.
I take back over before the main road and after a short shopping Spree in
Palm Coast, we go home for lunch then head to Crescent Beach where Caleb tries his hand  at driving on the beach

He found a parking spot!

 A boy a beach and a dog

 Caleb tests the waters
and decides it's a bit too chilly
We work again at 3 o'clock so time to head back

Florida Week 3 - Caleb visit Day 2

Caleb spent the night with his Cousin and Aunt.  The brought him back and then headed back to Alabama.

We are scheduled to work at 3:00.  Caleb wanted to climb to the top of the St. Augustine Light so we headed there before work.

A glimpse from the Parking Lot
A  short stroll
and there we are.  Gary opted out of the climb.
The lighthouse is 165 feet tall or 219 steps.
The original tower, lost to the ocean, was 52'.  Caleb is off to a running start

Further up you start getting some views
Every so often you get to stop and breath and read about some facts and they let you know your progress

then finally you reach the top.  What a view!
The wind is whipping pretty good up here!

We go back down and check out the Lightkeepers house

It has a nice little museum downstairs

Gary joined us at the end
Back home and back to work!
