Waynesville, NC - Last week October

Can't believe a the Season is over!  We will have to stay past November 1st while my dental work gets done.

We hear they've opened up 276 to the Blue Ridge Parkway 

so we hop on the bike

 

Go past the Francis Gristmill

Still lots of color out

The Pigeon River here has moved too.

Some washouts of the road along the way 

The side of the road washed away down to the river

We make it to the Blue Ridge

But it's closed in both directions 

Another ride with friends for lunch in Bryson City and the a ride to Nantahala Gorge

We decide we'll come back here and do a Whitewater Rafting.

They open the Parkway by us down to Great Smokey Mountains NP.  We donated short ride to go up to Balsam Mountain 

Only to discover that it is closed at the Masonic Temple Memorial.

So we turn around and dead the other way to Waterrock Knob

Return to NC - 3rd week October.

We head back to NC.  Stop to top off the Propane Tanks.

We make it back.  It's starting to look like Halloween around here

The creek has been changed from the Flood, the dog beach is gone.

And there are a lot more rocks.

The weather is nice so we do a short ride to check out aftermath from the flood

We get over to the Pigeon River

We head over to Lake Junaluska all looks good with a drive-by
