Winter Trip 2024/25 - Cocoa FL 1st 2 weeks March

Started out the Month at the First United Methodist Church in Cocoa Beach..  There was a manned spaceship going up this week so they sang a special hymn for the Astronauts.

On the way home we saw they were having an arts and crafts show in Cocoa Village so we stopped to see.

We did pick up a 50+ SPF long sleeve T-Shirt each.

We have free storage for our RV while we are here.  CoCo looks so small!  Gonna be hard to move back in!

A couple good rains we which we needed

But still enough good weather for the pool.  Gary even enjoyed Volleyball

We were sad to learn our lovely neighbor was moving back to Kentucky!  We helped her load up the Truck anyway.

I got up just before 3 a.m. to get pics of the Blood Moon

One zoomed in shot with my phone

One with my Camera

Our friends Norm and Alice took us down to Sebastian FL for thrift shopping and lunch.

Captain Hiram's

The Launch to bring back the stranded astronauts was delayed by a day, but it did take off.  Watched from Norm and Alice's back yard.

A good 2 weeks.  Hard to believe only 6 weeks till we head back to NC

Winter Trip 2024/25 - Cocoa, FL, February

The month starts with a nice sunset

and a rocket launch

The birds are enjoying the weather too

We see our friends off from Jetty Park for their cruise

We spot their pink umbrella

They are on the Venezia, an Italian ship owned by Carnival.  We will be going on it with a good size group from here and NC in January.

Another launch from our back yard

We finally take time for a motorcycle ride

We are headed to a lighthouse near Cape Canaveral

We didn't find it but did find SpaceX, where we were turned around and told we had to reserve a tour of the lighthouse.

We head back to Cocoa

And stop at the waterfront park, it's quite nice

Spent the month cleaning out our front bed.  Removing the Bougainvillea that has gotten out of control as well as trimming the shrubs.

By the second week of trimming we filled 3 more yard waste cans.

Maybe next month we can have some more fun!

Winter Trip 2024/25 - Cocoa, FL

We bought a House!

When we came for the Christmas party in December we looked at a couple houses for sale in the Park, one was a fixer upper and the other completely remodeled inside.  We put a low ball offer on the remodeled one, they rejected it, so we looked around Brooksville, Palm Harbor and Wildwood, FL.  We put an offer in on a place in Wildwood, but the inspection showed the Heat Pump/AC needed replacing.  Would cost $6,000 to fix so we backed out.  All the places we liked were on leased land and that ranged from $540 to $1000 a month.   We were getting frustrated when a couple weeks later Gary got a text saying "the Seller has decided to accept your offer".  We both looked at each other and said what offer?  After a little research we realized it was the remodeled house in Cocoa.
