The day after Christmas we head to Downtown Tucson for a walk about
We check out a few of the hundreds of the Wall Murals in Tucson along the way
We get to the Pima County Courthouse in El Presidio Park.
They just finished renovating it this year.
Notorious bank robber John Dillinger and his gang were captured in Tucson and were held at here at the Pima County Jail.
It houses a nice museum and visitors center
We continue on through El Presidio Park
also recently renovated
This location has been utilized since 1539. In 1775, the Spanish declared the park’s site and surrounding areas a “presidio,” or a central fortress. a stop at the statue commemorating the Mormon Battalion of 1846.
We check out Old Town, the historic district
This was a possibility for lunch
but unfortunately, they were closed
We move on
A mural supporting El Tour de Tucson. El Tour de Tucson is a fundraising ride and has been a Tucson tradition since 1983. You can ride a 100, 57, or 28 mile route.

We have lunch and are back to the train station where we parked
Gary hangs out with some of his Hombres,
Locomotive 1673, built in 1900 by Schenectedy Locomotive Works
is decked out for the holidays.
After lunch we head over to Saguaro National Park East to drive the 5 mile scenic loop.
Watch out for bicyclists!
