December in Tucson

Can't believe we are in December already!

We lucked out and got a new site.  With a lot more space and a Patio!

We went to the Tamale Festival at Casino Del Sol with friends from the Park

There was of course a Mariachi Band
After finding all the free samples of Tamales we could find we sat down.
 and enjoyed an Indian Taco

Then it was back to work.  Traffic was a bit heavy this morning.

Run into the usual suspects at lunch time
They could have looked a little more excited to see me back!

I went to the 4th Avenue Street Festival for the first time

Lots of nice jewelry but I was good and only bought Christmas Presents
Everyone should bring their pet goat

I think he must have drugged these poor guys.

 We enjoyed a Super Moon

Then we went to the Tucson Symphony for the Magic of Christmas production

It was delightful!
Santa showed up at the end and started a snowball fight

Afterwards we had Dinner and ice cream at HUB, best Salmon ever

and I think I got a buzz off the Bourbon Almond Brittle Ice-cream

Then there was a Bell Concert at the church down the road

Christmas Dinner at the Park was delicious and way too much as always

These were the two dessert tables when we got there -
it doubled in size by the time dinner was served
For my Birthday, we drove to Saguaro National Park to pick up my Senior Access Pass for $10 - good for life before it goes up to $80 next year.

While out and about, we drove through Gates Pass to go try a hike over at Sweetwater Preserve to walk off Chrstmas dinner

Scenic pullout on Gates Pass

Sweetwater Preserve was beautiful- it was like walking through Saquaro National Park but dogs are allowed so we took Tucson and Sasha our rent a dog for the week!

Loved this crested Saquare

Apparently we weren't the only ones pigging out this Holiday season
Everyone was pooped!  Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

But the desserts were OMG.  The Panacotta was to die for and the chocolate ganache tarts were Yum.  Didn't even get to try the pies, cobblers or cheesecakes.

We also made it to see the Winterhaven Lights

The lights on roof on right read "Don't text and drive"

They even had a snow machine

New Years Eve day was overcast and cool so we though it would be a good day for a hike.  We had our friends Dan & Earlene's dog Squirty for the day as they went to Phoenix for the Ohio - Florida game.

I researched and found a park closer to home where we could take the dogs - Sweetwater is 30 miles away.  Robles Pass is less than 10 miles and is the same sort of trail system.

There were some good views of downtown Tucson

Another cool Crested Saquaro

We take a break half way through the 4 mile hike!

We find out why they named this trail the Camaro Loop

Oh No!  We missed the last flight out!

Saw this at the corner where there are usually things for sale.  Hoped maybe it was a belated Christmas Present from Gary, all saddled up and ready to go - but not!

We opted out of the Dinner and Dance at the Park and decided to just grill some Steak and Shrimp at home.  We picked up our friend Beth from the airport, she had taken an impromptu trip to Oregon to visit her boyfriend for the week and she joined us for Dinner.
It was quiet and nice new years eve.

After reading Trump's New Years message

Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don't know what to do. Love!

I decided to make my own:

Be humble, kind and tolerant. Love your fellow man/woman regardless of race, creed or color. Help those up who have fallen as it will also lift you. Smile and show kindness to a stranger even if they are different from you. Do random acts of kindness. Remember the Golden Rule - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I wish my family, friends and the world a Happy, prosperous and peaceful New Year. May your God bless you and keep you safe always.
