We leave Unadilla to go to Rochester. Nothing opens up in Rochester until May 1st or later. To slow down, I find a municipal campground in Owego - Hickories Park for $25 a nt. It's a nice park but spots are tight to get into. We finally find a spot and start getting settled in when I get a call from Hickory Ridge Golf and RV Resort in Holley, NY about my request for a monthly stay. It turns out we can go there today so we pack up and head out.
We arrive just before the office closes
Looks like high season hasn't happened yet
At least it will be quiet
The
park is in Holley, NY it is about 30 miles from Rochester but there
just isn't much in the way of RV parks near the City. I tried to get
into one a little closer that is a membership park figuring we would be
gone before Memorial Day weekend - the big Summer Kick-off but when I
said we wanted 27 nights they said we could only stay if we booked a
month. I was too dumbfounded to argue.
Anyway we have golf here and a fishing pond.
We took advantage of the Golf
My drive at one of the Par 3 holes - mine is the pink ball 4 inches from the hole.
The Town of Holley is cute and has a nice little Park near the Erie Canal
You can walk along the Canal
We do a couple of bike rides along the Canal
A great Diner in town
Weather was pretty good considering it was Upstate/Western NY. Though we did have a cold day soon after arriving
I baked Banana Bread to warm up the RV
We also had a pretty good windstorm
A few nice sunsets
and even fireworks
and a little bird watching
Will be a busy month getting doctors appointments out of the way and visiting friends and family
