Trip West - Bardstown, KY, Museums

We venture about town

and try out some restaurants

Guess we won't have to wait for the Cows to come home to get our meal here.

We came here for lunch the day before and there was a 2 hour wait.  We went home and had leftovers and were going to come back for Dinner but turned out they were closed for Dinner that day.

  So we came back today.

I had the Cornbread Mafia Burger and Gary the Bourbon Burger.

We visited the Museums

The Military History Museum

The Museum of the Civil War

In just under two years we have exceeded the death toll of the Civil War which lasted just over 4 years.

Women's Civil War Museum

Interesting accounts of women joining army disguised as men and women spies

Bardstown is also home to Stephen Foster's home "My Old Kentucky Home"

did not tour the inside.

There are 11 Bourbon Distilleries with 16 miles of Bardstown, I signed us up for a tour, 

so we followed this guy

We got there and found out we were only signed up for a tasting

So we headed to the Vistor's Center

and have a taste

Found out there was an opening for a distillery tour at 9 am, since we already had the tasting I signed us up before we head out of town.
