We arrived in rain and leave Death Valley in the rain
Friends recommended we stop at the Amarorosa Opera House. We didn't stop on the way in as it was raining and now it's raining again so we pass. So much for the driest place in North America.
Our neighbor who had pumped up our tire last night pumped it up again before we left. There are 3 tire places in Pahrump so we head there. We go to Purcell because we had used them in Tucson once.
We have Breakfast at Mom's Diner while waiting
and decide to stay at the Escapee Park here.
Wake up the next morning to mucho snow on the mountains
Next stop is Red Rock Canyon where we will hopefully take the driving tour. You need to make a timed reservation and I have not done so yet as was waiting to check weather and also wanted to find out if we could take the RV with car in tow or if we would need to unhook.
Back through the mountains that look a little whiter this time
We arrive at Red Rock and find that you can't even get to the Visitors' Center without a timed entry. I have no cell service so am told to drive back to a overlook a mile or two back so I can call Visitors' Center and ask about the RV and Car.
We drove back and still couldn't get service to call so we decide we can unhook here and leave the RV but then couldn't get online to book a time slot. Frustrated we continued on.
Guess we will just have to be happy seeing the outside and continue on to the Las Vegas Bay Campground
We actually find a nice site in the Generator Free area since our generator is currently not working
Nice enough to eat lunch outside
and enjoy snacks overlooking the beautiful view
Tucson likes it too
We do a little hike and come across a helicopter landing
We do a drive down to Boulder Bay, the water is way down
Someone's optimistic
Drive down to the beach. Guessing they put these bathrooms in when the parking lot got too far away
This is what they used to collect water samples, guess they took too many
Stopped at the Fish Hatchery which was open but no fish hatching any more - not enough water. They hope to get water running again sometime in 2024
Got a nice couple of rainbows
Next stop Lake Havasu
