Cape Cod - Eastham to Truro

Today we head to the Outer Cape towards P-Town
1st Stop is the Cape Cod National Seashore
The back of the Visitor Center has my most favorite view.
We check out the Captain Penniman House.  The Whale Bone arches have been removed.

Next is the Coast Guard Station in Eastham

and the nearby Nauset Lighthouse
A new walkway to the beach.  The large wooden staircase leading from the parking lot down to the Beach had been destroyed every year since 2012, costing more than $100,000 to replace each time.  It is now gone and there is a path down to the beach now.
Tucson has a blast

They show a film at the National Seashore called Sands of Time.  In a time lapse they show boulders like this entirely exposed one day and completely covered the next.
Three Sisters Lighthouses. They got their nickname because when looked at from a distance, they looked like women dressed in white with black hats.  Two of the lighthouses, the northern and southern were bought at a public auction of $3.50 and incorporated into a summer cottage.  The 3rd Lighthouse renamed the Beacon was decommissioned after it was replaced by Nauset Light and also sold and turned into a cottage.  The NPS was eventually able to acquire all three and they were reunited here.

Further up in Truro we get to the Highland Lighthouse
The Lighthouse originally sat where this rock is until 1996.
We decide to forgo P-Town as Gary has no interest and I have been there many times.  We head to Rock Harbor to see if we can catch the tide out and check out the channel markers, but the tide is in.

Tucson finds a friend though

and enjoys a romp in the grass.
The harbor - see the Swan in the very back by the boathouse in the center?
Well let's check out the zoom on my new camera.
The
Coast Guard Motor Lifeboat CG 36500 is anchored here.  It came to the rescue of the shipwrecked Pendleton, which had broken in half in a storm.  It is considered one of the most daring rescues of the United States Coast Guard
What's that on that Rock in the distance?
Just seagulls.

Another beautiful day on the Cape
