We start out with Labor Day Party by the Campground
Every Morning I get reminded that we are in the Smoky Mountains
We get new awnings
Move the RV forward a few feet and expand the parking area
And put in a shed out back, Dale our resident Engineer helped.
Tucson helped too
I was off with my friend Patty on her Spyder for lunch and shopping.
Went for a quick drive around the neighborhood. Thought we'd check out the Swanky Swag, but looks like they are keeping the riff raff out.
On our way back down the Mountain, I had Gary turn into Boyd's Tree farm.
What a beautiful spot
We were watched like a hawk the whole time
Had an adult rootbeer float party and had made this sign for our friend Alice who hosts the Crafty Old Ladies group and dessert parties. She is 88 and a treasure. Made this sign for her.
Drove up to Skinnydip Falls with our neighbors and friends Patty and Dale. The trail started from the Looking Glass Rock Overlook
Not far in is the Dragon Tree
Good Dragon!
It's a Rocky trail up and down
This area was decimated by flooding last year. We had planned on going but it was closed. The bridge across the creek was washed out.
Dale with the long legs was able to cross over
A group lunch out for Irish Music at the Scottsman
It's beginning to look like Fall around here
We drove the Heintooga Rd. Loop, 28 miles up the mountain on a one way gravel road. Will have to do it again in the Spring when the Rhododendrons are in bloom.
And this Month is the Tailgate Party
We head over to Cullowhee and Western NC University for the Heritage Days.
Chain saw competitions
Classic Car Show
Sheep show, Tucson thought there should be a herding demonstration.
Cherokee stick ball. Basically a free for all. All harm no foul.
The Tucson FAN Club always present
An icecream Truck almost like my old one
The Crafty Old Ladies got together for a Luncheon
We were all given an old mattress spring to decorate at the start of the season. I finally figured out what to do 3 days before the deadline
Thanks Alice,. Notice the Christmas mugs she made for each of us.
A group of us went up to Waterrock Knob for a sunset party. It was 63 degrees here. 50 degrees up there!
We could see the tail end of Hurricane Ian to the East
I end the month with a class at the Teresa Pennigton Art Gallery. All her work is in color pencil and is incredible. When I first looked in her window I thought they were paintings.
All the landscape choices were gone and my 1st choice I was told would take 3 weeks. I chose this one of the 3 left that could be done in a day.
They even framed it for me.
