Drive to Rainbow Curve

 The opened Trail Ridge road up to Rainbow Curve so we decide to check it out.




 Seeing more snow accumulation as we go up

 

Now we're talking snow

Uh Oh!

I think there's a curve ahead

Guessing we are almost there

Here we are!

 

Quite the view

No pot of gold at the end of the rainbow - just a  dead end


Might as well walk a ways further

 Here you can see how high the banks are.

 Hang on Tucson!

Uh Oh!  Remember that rapidly changing weather sign?

Tucson doesn't mind

Looks like we've lost our view.

A quick stop on the way back to get a shot of the height of the snow above the truck.

Wish I had a sled or skis

Back down below the snowline. You can see that Alluvial Fan in the distance.
