Week off Days 3-5

Day 3 we put in a few extra hours mowing the campground and redoing the fire pits to get ready for 4th of July Weekend and laid low for the rest of the day.

Day 4 it was rainy so we did laundry and then headed to Seward to get gas.

Day 5 it is supposed to be drier this morning and Tucson is doing better so we head up the Road to the Grayling Lake trailhead.

The trail crosses the railroad tracks
 Tucson sniffs out the trail
 Pretty flowers -
My favorite kind of woods walk - mossy, alpine rain forest
Every now and then they put a boardwalk through
and a few creek crossings so Tucson can get a drink
Once in a while we come across a clearing and check for bears or moose.
 There are definitely bear about
 and Moose
Meridian Lake looks to be about a 1 mile spur off this trail.  We decide to see how we feel on the return trip
 Tucson sees water
and there it is - Grayling Lake.  Stocked with Grayling a member of the trout family

There is a fungus among us
We reach the far side of the Lake
The trail continues on another spur about 1/2 mile to Leech Lake

We see a bit of the Lake through the trees
Leech Lake - very pretty with some Lilies

 Everything is so GREEN!
 A fungus princess!
 and a Fun guy!

Back to the beginning where there are these beautiful red columbine
Hopefully we will have some nice weather our last two days off and we will be able to do another hike or two.
