Week Off Day 1 & 2

Week off!  Yeah!  Saturday is catch up on laundry day and get everything ready to pull out on Sunday.  We are headed to Girdwood for the Forest Fair, an annual Arts and Crafts Fair.  It is a dark dreary and drizzly day and Jan's cabins next door get a load of firewood delivered.  We volunteer to stack it as we are staring to get a little stir crazy.

Sunday weather is looking much nicer the Lake is calm as glass and blue sky is showing

Tucson is paying close attention

The beauty of this route never ceases to amaze me
Almost there

Signs, signs everywhere a sign
taking up the scenery and blowing my mind
There's still room in the RV overnight parking area.
When we get back this afternoon this area is completely filled with cars one even parked in the small space behind us and in front of the next RV
Turns out we are too early for the first shuttle - it won't arrive for another 20 minutes so we decide to walk as it's only a mile.

The Fair is hopping.  I guess it poured rain yesterday.
I overhear someone saying there was a bear up in the tree behind the booth so I got my camera out.  He thought it was a great spot last night - guess he'll be waiting till later to come down.

We stop at the food court for a bite to eat and sit down and listen to the music.

A good policy
The food court and music area are a complete muddy, mucky, mess.  These ambitious young guys were shoveling up the top layer of mud and hauling it off.
Not everyone was deterred by the mud.
Found the hippies - a little reminiscent of Woodstock

A cool day at the Forest Fair!
and a yummy dessert!

Loved this chair
The music was great
They do like dogs just not at the Forest Fair
Now it's time to head out on a hike.
