Trip West - Maggie Valley - Sierra Nevada Brewery

I have a friend I met when I first started out full-timing by myself.  My former sister-in-law introduced us when I decided to go out on my own as she was a co-worker at Social Security and took and early retirement to go RVing solo.  We hooked up after I first left Rochester in September of  2014 and we kept in touch but never hooked up again until today.

We meet 1/2 way between where we are and where she is just at the Sierra Nevada Brewery just outside the Asheville Airport.

It is quite the drive into the Brewery

It is a beautiful building

They are not conduction brewery tours at this time, but there are things to see in the restaurant.

too bad they don't make a gluten free beer

We had a nice lunch and caught up on 7 years then went outside to check the grounds  Quite the place. Unfortunately the trails were all closed.  Disappointing as would have liked to do the one down to the river.

There are all sorts of sitting areas outside.

Gary and Julie check out the mobile bar with taps.

There is a beautiful garden where they grow flowers and vegetables for the restaurant.

Not sure what this plant is, but one section seems to have become deformed - kind of like the crested Saguaro Cactus in Tucson.

Bees are busy

They even have Bocce Ball courts

A nice lunch, nice visit catching up.  I am sure we will cross paths again.
Happy trails!
