Trip East - Little Tallapoosa County Park - Carrollton, GA

Our next COE campground is just outside Augusta, GA, but it is a long drive, so I found a county park in Carrollton, GA about 1/2 way - Little Tallapoosa County Park, a 256 Acre Park with camping, fishing ponds and trails.

We are off to a rainy start

but the weather clears by the time we reach Georgia

We arrive at the Park in Carrolton, GA

A nice back in site

Tucson seems to like the spot.

We check out the trail behind us

It leads to one of the two fishing ponds.

Looks like we have to keep an eye out for Big Foot

This guy visited our site one day

and there is an equestrian campground so we see riders from time to time

We are here for 3 nights so we break out the fly fishing poles.  This looks like a good spot.

So I cast a line out

and Voila!

Tucson gets excited when we fish and wants to retrieve the fly, this time he fell in!  There was a ledge he couldn't climb out of so we had to pull in up onto shore.
 Bet that water was cold!

It is a really nice Park with picnic pavilions and a splash park

A nice walk to the other fishing pond

A nice stay.  Our next stop was supposed to be Modoc COE in SC just outside Augusta, GA, but I got an email that they were closed for repairs from a recent storm and flooding and won't open until the day after our reservation, so I booked a night in the south side of Augusta for a night.
