We never got to go horseback riding in Tucson and there was a Groupon here for a 2 hour ride that was less than half price so we decided to give it a shot. We opted for the ride that went through the National Forest because it sounded like we would have a chance to see more wildlife.
Judy gets all set
Hughes and Gary wait their turn
Looks like everyone is saddled up
And we're off!
The ride is mainly through the woods but we get a good view every once in a while
Guess we cross the divide.
Every time we came to a hill we were told to lean back if going downhill and lean forward if going uphill or we could fall off!
This was our second stop on the ride. The first one the guide spent 1/2 hour readjusting stirrups
Now she was readjusting the Saddles. It was another 30-40 minutes
Everyone just hangs out
Hughes gets back in the Saddle
It was a pretty rocky and hilly ride, felt sorry for the horses it wasn't easy to navigate in spots.
In retrospect we probably should have done the ride in the Park. I thought the 2 hour ride would take us up on the ridge and along one of the lakes, but I guess that would be the 4 hour ride. Of course we didn't expect to be just sitting around for 1 hour of the 2 hour ride. Don't know if that was normal or because we had Groupons.
We had a good time with our friends Judy and Hughes anyway!
