The "Farm"

My friend Jean that I met while working in Jekyll Island 4 years ago has always given me an open invitation to come stay on their Tree Farm in Ohio.  We finally took her up on it.
It is a long dirt road up to the Farm.  This picture is after Gary did some major mowing.  We have been here about 7 week and haven't had much internet so this post is a conglomeration of our time on the Farm.

Tucson loves to walk down to the gate every day.  He poses by the sign

The approach to the camping area.  The Barn was dismantled from by the road and moved up here and reassembled
 The beams are amazing

Settled in we cook out

We are even provided with table and chairs!

and the views are lovely

Uh Oh!  Gary found the tractor

and he's off to the woods

View back to the camper from the woods

Tucson loves the new trails Dad mowed!

As does the local wildlife

This poor guy has lost an antler and looks like he has a tumor or infection
Tucson loves his yard and dog house

There are lots of birds but they are very shy.  I got a few shots

 Enough bird pictures already!
 Turkey!
It took me weeks for this Cardinal to sit still long enough to finally get a shot.

I put out my hummingbird feeder and immediately got 3 hummingbirds

Then the largest hummingbird I have ever seen showed up

So I bought a 2nd feeder.  It took awhile but they finally started using it.

They still use the old one - I got this shot - that black line on the bottom is the hummingbird's tongue!

Walking the trails that Gary mowed you spot lots of things.
Spider webs
Thistles
Not sure what these are but they are pretty
Monarchs and milkweed
Elderberries

Fairy hammocks

and sometimes they spot you

After a hard day of mowing Gary takes a nap and this beauty joins him.
Works her way up the chair
 Creeps towards the hand

and finally settles in

No one ever told me how hot and humid Ohio can be.  It has been a warm month!
