Trip North - Maine - Camden - Megunticook Mtn Trail

We decide to hike the Megunticook Trail this evening
as there is a chance of rain tomorrow
It is a 1 mile one way trail with 1,000 feet elevation gain.
It is rated moderate.
Mostly rocky trail but every so often there are stairs.
We take the turn for Adams Lookout
 Just follow the blue blazes

We reach Adams Lookout
 and keep going
 More views
 and keep going
 and going

We are fortunate to meet a family that are coming the other way
and they get a picture for us.

Come on guys we're not there yet

 Finally the top!

 The dreaded return downhill

 Gary bringing up the rear.
 Tucson spots water ahead
 Ahhh!
 Daddy's coming Tucson

Our 2 mile hike showed up as 3.8 on Gary's hiking app.  That is also what
AllTrails says.  We would rate this more difficult than moderate.  We started out at 4:15 from our site and finished at 7:45.

Trip North - Maine - Camden

When we were at Camden Harbor, we met a woman who went on and on about a beautiful Victoria Village in Northport where she lived.  She said most people just pass on by it, so we decide to drive and and check it out.

After much driving around in circles in the area it is supposed to be, we give up and head back.

 We stop at Linconville Beach

because I saw this place on the way to Northport.  It was just the picnic area for the restaurant - I went over to check it out and they wanted $28 for a Lobster Dinner.
So we headed into town where Hannifords was having a sale on Lobsters for $5.99 a pound.  We pass by two of my favorite Inns.

I got the very last Lobster.  Gary had hotdogs.

Trip North - Maine - Camden Hills State Park

We leave Pemaquid Point and head to Camden.
I see this sign . . .
I am upset that we won't be here on Sunday!

Pass through downtown Camden - a busy place!

and reach the campground
A nice site, but a long uphill back-in
 Time to relax
We drive into Camden to check it out - I remember seeing
Falls on Google Maps.

The Windjammer Festival is going on at the Harbor

We walk to a small park next to the harbor
and find Megunticook Falls
A concert is going on so we sit and enjoy the view and music.

Time to go home and rest up for our adventures tomorrow

Trip North - Maine - Pemaquid Pt - Plummer Pt. Preserve

Today we are hiking at Plummer Point Preserve.  We head down to the Lighthouse to check it out after the storm we had last night.  Got a shot of Garys favorite little house on the way.
 The sky is clearing

We pass by the Willing Workers Hall - it looks like no one wants
to work anymore

We arrive at the trail head
Looks like it is a walk up an old dirt road
Until we get about 1/2 mile up and see the real trail head.
Dogs allowed off leash here so Tucson blazes the trail.
Our first view of the Damariscotta River
Tucson is telling Daddy thanks for bring me
It's a rocky, twisting and hilly trail
with some really nice views when it meets the shoreline

 A view of Seal Cove

Then it's time to climb back up
Back up the road and then Plummer cove is off the other side.

 Uh oh - detour

 Tucson found it
 Long Cove meets Plummer Cove

 End of Plummer Cove
It was a nice 2 mile hike and we head back home

and have Dinner - I had the Steamers I picked up at Two Ladies Lobster
and Gary had the last of his Venison Steak.
and one last fire before we leave tomorrow
Next stop - Camden Hills State Park
