Trip North - Pemquid Point - Salt Pond and Laverna Preserves

One of my favorite big houses.

Rachel Carson came here to study the the tidal pool.
 It is low tide

Here is the same view at almost high tide the next day.

Tucson surveys the shoreline

Someone has built a nice retaining wall.
 The boys contemplate life together.

Next is a hike at Laverna Preserve
It is a 2.5 mile loop trail through the woods to the shoreline
The neighbor of the parking area has built an interesting fence.
 and we're off!

We take the turn for the Tibbetts trail which is supposed to lead to a freshwater pool
 A forest whale tale
Dead End trail - we're up for it.
Looks like we made it to the shoreline
and here is the Pool but I think it's not freshwater and there is algae in it
so Tucson is out of luck for a swimming hole.
and a beautiful shoreline it is.
 The boys take a break
and Gary says he sees an Eagle - but it is an Osprey

 We move on

 We head to Round Pond

to check out the Two Ladies Lobsters

Looks like a small operation

I asked for the Lobster to be cooked so we went to the Granite Hall store
to kill some time
 Chock full of stuff

Home and time for dinner.  Lobster for me and Haddock stuffed
with lobster, crab and shrimp for Gary.

Another great day!
