Trip North - Maine - Portland Head Light & Two Lights

We head to Portland Light

A contrast of ships in the Harbor
and the Portland Head Lighthouse.  The area has changed since I was here over 30 years ago.

Next we drive out to see Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth
But I see only one!  Apparently it was originally built in 1828 as two rubble stone towers 300 yards apart.  The use of multiple lights in a given site was discontinued in 1924. The western light was removed from service and the eastern tower remains in service as "Cape Elizabeth Light"
Can see why there were shipwrecks here even with the Lighthouses

 The boys take a break
The tidal pools are crystal clear
The rocks remind me of petrified wood
what better way to top of a great day than to stop for ice cream?

caramel cashew - creamiest ice cream I've ever eaten.
 I'm not horsing around
I could make a pig out of myself!
