Trip North - Portland, ME

We head into Portland and start the day at the
Farmers Market in Deering Park.

Lots of fruits and vegetables
and Flowers
It's a hopping place!  Picked up stuff for roasted root vegetables
and Greens and Beans!

We head into Portland

and down to the East End to walk the waterfront trail.
A small gauge railroad runs alongside the trail.
A nice little beach

We were lucky to find a 1 hour parking space - just enough time to walk
the  Eastern Promenade trail.

The girls are always chasing Tucson wherever he goes.

Fort Gorges is a former U S. military fort built on Hog Island Ledge in Casco Bay.  Built from 1858 to 1864, no battles were fought there and no troops were stationed there.

Bug Light off in the distance.
Our hour is up and we head over to see Portland Head Lighthouse.
There are beautiful homes along the water.
Love this little Lobster Roll Cart - had there been a parking spot
I would have liked to try one.
Instead we stop at Otto's Filling Station.
Gary had Potato, Bacon and Scallion, I had Gluten Free
Chicken, Roasted Pear and Fontina.   Yum!

Next Stop - Portland Light
