We head to St. James Island outside Charleston, SC
We arrive at St. James Island County Park
Booked 1 night as that was all that was available to see Charleston.
On the way in we pass a lake with dogs swimming on the other side.
Tucson took notice.
We get situated
]Nice view and a pond out back
After lunch we decide to take the hiking/bike trail over to that lake where the dogs were swimming. Time for Tucson to have some fun.
The Park is huge
No swimming - except for dogs!
Tons of dogs and everyone was getting along
Tucson had a blast
He swam and ran non-stop for about 1/2 an hour or better. At 9 1/2 years old I figured he would be lame later but a baby aspirin and he was fine
Back at the campground he rests and dries off
After dinner we head into Charleston and find a parking spot near the Market
We take a stroll through - a lot of vendors were packing up
Then a walk down to the water
There are still cobblestone streets
and beautiful old architecture
Courtyards
It's getting late and starting to sprinkle., so we head back to the truck and catch a rainbow outside the Market
It is dark when we get back, but a wise old owl shows us the way in.
There seemed to be an alien conference going on at the pond behind us.
A great one night stay - next time we'll do a few nights. Next stop Myrtle Beach.
