Stewart, BC

We head down the road to Seward a 37 mile detour down 37A.
So far it's a beautiful drive
Suddenly, Gary yells, Bear!  I look over and my 50mph photo skills kick in and I get the shot.
We see the familiar blue glacier water ahead and slow down
It's a bit foggy/misty but still impressive - Bear Glacier
 A river frozen in time
There are several waterfalls along the way
What seems like a smooth ride is definitely not when you are trying to zoom in on a picture - two bears crossing the road ahead.
But we get to where they were and Gary stops and I get a shot of one of them looking back to check us out.
There's the campground but we decide to drive into town instead of unhooking
It is cold and blustery but we decide to brave the boardwalk anyway - OK I want to brave it and Gary is a good sport
The cold doesn't fazeTucson in the least
Cute Main Street but there's not much open.  We tried the Municipal Campground but not yet open
We go back to the Good Sam Park - $45 for just electric - $40 with Good Sam.  But it's the only game in town so we bite the bullet.

The welcome to Stewart Sign is across the highway

We get a pull thru and I am thinking those crazy Canadians that sent us here didn't even come!  A couple hours later they pull in. They had wheel bearing problems.  Later I see them drive off with their car.

A couple hours later they come back and tell me they had just spent close to an hour watching an 800 lb Grizzly walking along the River and had come 10 feet from their car.  They give us the keys to their car to go check it out.

We drove to where they saw them and beyond - looked both ways but it was gone.  Bummer!

What a nice thing for them to do.  Tomorrow we get back on the Cassiar.
