Not much is open in Whitehorse so we just do a quick scout of Town. Firefighter Monument
The Old Tram Car was operated on wooden rails around Miles Canton and Whitehorse Rapid from 1989 to 1900. The White Pass Railway came though Whitehorse on June 8, 1900 and the Tram services were discontinued.
Lunch at the Yukon Meat and Sausage Deli was excellent. We split the Working Man's lunch, 2 Sausages, Sauerkraut, Coleslaw, & Broccoli Cauliflower Salad.
A stroll along the Yukon River
In 2013 Guiness Book of World records, reported Whitehorse as the city with the least air pollution in the world.
Rather than stay in Whitehorse we opt to check out the Hot Springs just outside Town
It's not very busy so we get a nice pull through site
We were hoping it was in a River but it is a pool. The hot side was 105 degrees - just right
The ducks seem to like it too.
Time to sit by the fire and have a glass of wine after the soak.
On the road again the next morning - maybe we'll see more Caribou
Those don't look like Caribou
A herd of horses wearing bells around their necks.
Almost there
It's Sunday so the Da Ku Cultural Center is closed but the Visitor's Center is running a minimum staff.
The staff directed us to where we can maybe see some Dahl Sheep. We had hoped to get into the Kluane National Park but found out it has no roads it is more of a Wilderness area with ice fields and can only be reached on foot.
