Stewart to Rabid Bear Rest Area

Leave Stewart to head back to Cassiar Highway up towards Teslin.

Avalanche gates are still up!
Looks like we are nearing the Bear Glacier again
It's a clearer day and the sun is in a better spot this morning

Wonder if we'll see any today?
Tucson sees something
A Bear!
Back on the Cassiar and they are "mowing" the sides of the roads - the mower takes out small trees.
We cross a few rivers and streams
and the constant snow covered mountains in front of us
 and more Bear

We take a short break at the Eastman Creek rest area.  It was named after George Eastman who used to hunt big game here.
Still a long road ahead of us
 and winding
Our goal is to make it to Dease Lake
As we drive by here Gary says he thinks he saw Eagles on the Lake
I make him stop and get out and zoom in - sure enough!

We make it to Dease Lake and the one campground that is open. We find out it has no water, electric or sewer and they want $25 so we opt to continue on 15 miles to the next rest area.
Looks like we'll have the place to ourselves.  Luckily it is not raining and I think it isn't going to get as cold as it has been at night.

There's a path just down the road that leads to the Lake.  We walk up a ways
As we get back I get the feeling I am being watched.  I look up and see this Golden Eagle in the tree top.

Look at the talons on him!
I don't think this was a really large dog that walked by.  We also saw a huge Caribou or Moose print.
We spent a quiet and comfortable night at the Rabid Bear Rest Area
