Prior Lake, MN - Minneopa State Park

We arrive at our Boondockers Welcome spot in Prior Lake

We park alongside the Pole Barn out back

Tucson has plenty of space to walk

We stopped in Prior Lake to hook up with friends I made when I was working down in Texas 9 years ago.  They pick us up and take us to Minneopa State Park to hike to some waterfalls.

Looks like we aren't the only ones that thought of it.

My friends Pam and Harold

There are two waterfalls here on Minneopa Creek

I suddenlty remember from my time at Lamb's Resort in
Schroeder, MN that most hikes involve stairs.

We get to the top but the trail up here is closed

We go as far as we can and turn around

What goes up goes back down

The creek is bordered by limestone - people have carved their names everywhere.  It is said there are no mosquitoes here in the summer because of the limestone.

We walk along the creek back to the falls

9 years but it doesn't seem that long!

What a nice hike!

Pam and Harold treat us to dinner.

The meal was delicious and since it was Gary's Birthday the next day, he got a free apple crisp.  He refused to share so I had to order my own.

Nice day!  We were going to stop at Minnesota's Largest Candy store but the line was incredibly long and it was cold out,
so saved for tomorrow along with Mall of America
