We leave F.W. Kent Park and head to St. Louis MO.
Traffic is heavy
We reach St. Louis - if we make good time we can get to Gateway Arch NP and take the tram up to the top
Oh No, Not again!
Our Boondocker spot is in Illinois
We arrive around 4 pm. O'Brien tire store in Granite City about 20 minutes from the Arch
We get set up and take off for the Park. The last Tram is at 5:15.
We cross the river
and the Arch comes into view though not the top.
Going to try to find street parking on the River side of the Park.
Uh Oh a glitch in my plans
We back track a bit and find parking on the Street
The Park is a short walk down the road, but we won't make the 5:15 Tram, just as well as I don't think you would see much.
They look even bigger when you get closer
Turns out they closed the entrance down by the Arches
so we have to head up to the street.
We find the entrance cut into the earth
After passing through all the security we are able to get down to the Museum 20 minutes before closing and 30 minutes before our meter runs out.
We do a quick tour
View of the Capital Building on our way out
Almost back, the band is still playing, that seems fishy
While I was getting this shot, Gary was talking to the people that were parked behind us with a travel trailer. Someone had broken a window in their Land Rover. Felt bad for them. God seems to watch over us quite a bit, we are thankful.
So glad we got to stop and see the Arch. Next stop Land Between the Lakes. It lies between two lakes and borders Kentucky and Tennesee.
