Back to the Lower 48 - Tok Cutoff

A bit chilly this morning.

We head up the road about 15 miles to join the Tok Cutoff which runs along the Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve 125 miles to Tok.
The confluence of the Gakona and Copper River.  Gakona means Rabbit in  Athabascan.
The Historic Gakona Lodge and Trading Post built in 1929 replacing an earlier roadhouse built in 1904.
Another Moose and Baby sighing
The road becomes a little roller coaster ride.
A good view of Mt. Sanford a dormant Volcano
Another beautiful travel day
Uh Oh, things are looking a little frosty ahead
 Downright Wintry

We have to stop to check it out
It is a winter wonderland of frost and ice

Further down the road things have thawed and we cross the Tok River
And we reach the Alaska Highway
Another stop to stretch the legs - all 8 of them

The Seaton Roadhouse Interpretive Site and Trails.
The small pond is the original site of the Roadhouse
Before you know it we are at the Port Alcan border crossing into the Yukon

We overnight at the Talbot Arms Motel in Destruction Bay.  They have a 15 amp hookup so at least we can get some heat tonight
