We leave the Smokys by 9:30 because we want to get to Cumberland Gap National Historic Area early as it is non-reservable - first come first serve and it is Spring Break. Hoping it isn't a problem since it is only Wednesday.
It is a scenic drive
along the East Tennessee Crossing Byway where you can go North and South at the same time!
almost there!
There are electric sites but no water or sewer (what do you expect for $10 night?) So Gary fills and dumps
while Tuscon and I sniff out a site. Only two rows - B&C have electric and they are not very level.
I choose B13 because it is a bit secluded but close to the showers and
looks fairly level, but once we back in we find we have to put two boards
under the back tires.
Having free hot showers was a great bonus.
This has to be the smallest camphost RV I have ever seen.
We walk the Nature Trail in the Park to stretch our legs after traveling
Loved they tiny Irises - they were only 4-6" tall.
Glad we got here on Wednesday - when we got back from our hike, we found locals were coming in and "holding" sites with a lawn chair by the next day we wouldn't have fit into any of the sites left.

Looking forward to investigating the park!
