Georgia - Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge - Swamp Tour

We arrive bright and early for the first boat ride into the swamp,  While waiting we go back to the backside of the visitor's center to see if the alligator is there.

Can you find him?
You can't see me!
Our chariot awaits.  We are the only ones going out so we have a personalized tour!
We head out

Right off our captain points out this American Bittern who was blending in quite well with it's surroundings
and an Osprey nest, you can just make out the head
Things should start getting wild now
our guide has an eagle eye for alligators
There were a few babies here as well

More road signs
Which way do we go?
The Grand Prairie
Another alligator sunning itself
Egrets fishing
We go closer to the edge
and get a lesson on the composition of the swamp.  You could walk out on that and not sink it is so dense
A Pig frog - because that is just how it sounds
  Oh look!  Another alligator

 They are watching us

 This owl however is not

On the way back we pass the next tour coming out
and safely back all fingers and toes accounted for.
