Gettysburg -- Final Day - Eisenhower Farm

We park the RV in the oversized parking and hop on the bus to the Eisenhower Farm
It was a narrow road in so we could see why there was no parking there.
This was Eisenhowerr's Summer Whitehouse.  The Eisenhowers bought the 189-acre farm for $40,000 in 1950.
The house is 4100 square feet with 24 rooms (8 are bathrooms) and has 99% of the Eisenhowers' original furnishings.  The fireplace mantle was in the East Room of the White House when Abe Lincoln was president.  It was purchased by the Staff for the Eisenhauers - it came from the Whitehouse when remodeled.

The round settee was a gift from Dwight to Mamie after she admired one on a trip to France.  The majority of the furnishings in the Living Room were gifts.
