Trip North - Nova Scotia - Day one

Gary is out for the count so I head out with Linda and the Dogs for a walk.
We go to an old site of a Fort - York Redoubt
Part of Halifax’s Defense Complex, York Redoubt was constructed in 1793 just as war broke out between Britain and France.
There are lots of places to explore - unfortunately this tunnel is only open
on the weekends.
We venture down towards the water

It rests on a bluff at the narrowest point of the outer harbor

 Lots of trails throughout
We make it down closer to the Harbor

I think this is a common Eider - not sure never saw one before.
It has its 27 buildings, related structures and armaments spread around.  The York Shore Battery is looking pretty battered.
A small Catmaran passes McNab's Island lighthouse
 We head back
and Linda makes a couple of stops so I can see remnants of Dorian
at Herring Cove.

Got home and Gary was still out like a light.  He did wake up later and
we had dinner with Gary and Linda and played Cross-board Cribbage - a
fun game before retiring for the night.  Watching our one TV station Gary suddenly got up and was very ill about an hour after his dose of doxycycline.
He went straight to bed.  Hope the medication starts working soon.
