Trip North - Bay of Fundy to Nova Scotia

Today is supposed to be rain all day so we pack up
to go to Nova Scotia.  Gary's rash has gotten worse - it has more than doubled in size and new spots are appearing,  so I ask our friends to recommend a clinic near them to take him in to get checked out when we get there later today.

It's definitely a gloomy day
The trailer connection warning comes on so
we pull over and check and all is OK.
 Past the covered bridge
and we are back at Hopewell Rocks.  We were there yesterday for Low Tide.   Now it is about an hour before High Tide and we just want to see the difference.  Entry fee covers 2 days so we make a quick stop just to go to the nearest overlook.

Diamond Rock Overlook - yesterday at low tide

Quite the difference!  It is starting to rain so we head out.  Shortly after we get back on the road, Gary gets a call from the PA at Mount Desert Island Hospital in Maine.  After being told yesterday that it was going to get a bit worse before getting better - he is now saying the Lyme test came back positive and get to an emergency room or clinic ASAP to get a prescription for Doxycline to be taken twice a day for 21 days.

I google a hospital in Moncton - 20 minutes away and head that way

We find a vacant lot a few blocks away to park in.

After a 1/2 hour wait in emergency we get to
the admissions desk and find out we will have
to pay $750 just to see a doctor.  Gary refuses so we go back
to the original plan of the clinic by our friends and I tell him I don't care what it costs he is getting that prescription!

I take over driving for a while and it is pouring rain - so no pictures.
Gary takes over driving just before Bedford where the clinic is - guess it might
be an un-traditional place to stop too.
We find parking

The clinic is above the drugstore.
What a difference from the Hospital in Moncton, New Brunswick. The staff was pleasant and helpful and got Gary in right a way.  Cost was only $100.  When he went to get the prescription filled downstairs - the pharmacist asked all sorts of questions and another took him to an examining room to check the rash before
dispensing the prescription.

We finally arrive at Gary and Linda's!   We had a lovely evening and Host Gary
cooked us a delicious meal of Cod and veggies.
