Trip North - Nova Scotia - Loop Drive

As usual the day starts with a 7:30 hike with the dogs.  Today we return to a Park we did earlier in the week to get some Burls.  It is a beautiful morning.

We head down to the spot we saw the Burls in

Linda gets her handy saw from her back pack and cuts some burls from a dead tree.  I keep watch as I am guilty by association.

We took a steep trail back out and there were several downed trees with
all sorts of Burls,  Who knew!

Looks like the kids are sufficient tired out

 and we got some burls

Gary and I head out later this morning to drive a scenic loop nearby

Linda says there is a hike at Duncans Cove,
but I don't know where it is.  So we continue on.

 We pass a beautiful Marsh
There is a lighthouse in Sambro I want to see.
 and another lovely Marsh
Left to Lighthouse - Right to Beach
We start with the Lighthouse.  This is the Sambro Harbor Light - not to be confused with the Sambro Island Lighthouse - the oldest surviving Lighthouse in North America - construction was completed in 1759.

Gary would make a great Lighthouse Keeper
The Coast Guard moseys by while we are there.

Next stop is the Crystal Crescent Beach where Linda and I walked the dogs.
I thought Gary would appreciate it too.

It is a much nicer day for the Beach
It is close to high tide and the Marsh is full
Off shore we see the QEII Aircraft carrier passing by the
Sambro Island Lighthouse
Zoomed in - it is a nice looking Lighthouse
It is high tide and the wake from the aircraft carrier have made it to shore - causing some good wave action.

There are a dozen people on the Nude Beach as we go by.

We head up to the rocks beyond them.

after enjoying the views we head back.  I go a short ways down another path we crossed to check out the view.
 While Gary waits below.
a nice scenic ride home

We get back and Gary learns you can torch weeds.

A lovely little drive - so glad Gary is on the mend.
