Trip North - Maine -Acadia Ocean Path

Today we head to Sand Beach to walk the Ocean Path.  Sand Beach parking lot typically fills up by 9 a.m.   We get there just before 9:30 and get a spot.
Zoomed in on hikers across the way on the Precipice Trail
We check out Sand Beach - water temperature is between 45 and 50 degrees
 the boys take a break
1.5 miles to Otter Cliffs - we will see how far we get.
A view back to Sand Beach

 The coastline is just amazing.
The trail mostly follows the road
With lots of places to walk out and see the views

 We arrive at Thunder Hole.
Last time we were here a couple hours before high tide.  Today we are one hour before low tide and it is much more active.

Occasionally the trail meanders through the woods.

We take a break looking down towards Otter Cliff.
and back to Sand Beach in the distance

We listen to the distant bell of the bouy warning boaters of some rock shoals.

We decide to turn around and take the car back to Otter Cliffs

We pass the Stacks
The right lane of the road is filled with cars when we pull and go
half way to Otter Cliff
We get the last parking spot and cross over to Otter Cliff

A beautiful morning walking along the cliffs overlooking the ocean.  Home to recoup for a couple hours then plan on  bike ride on the Carriage Trails to Jordan Pond this afternoon.
