Tucson January - trip to Mexico

We travel to Mexico with Beth and Art for Beth and I to get our teeth cleaned. 

We arrive in Nogales Mexico early so head to a restaurant for lunch recommended by one of the street guys.

From here we plan to go to Wisdom's in Tubac for Dinner.  It doesn't open until 5pm, so we stop at the Tumacacori Historical Site.

First a stop at the spice shop

We arrive at Tumacácori (emphasis on the ca)

Father Eusebio Francisco Kino visits Tumacácori  at the request of the Indians who had heard of the "black robes" growing new plants in the area.  After visiting, he  decides to expand the missionary efforts here.

On our way out we stop at the Gardens

We scoot down to Tubac to catch a shop or two before they close

Then back to Wisdoms for dinner.  Looks like they might feature chicken

Tucson - Meet me at Maynards - T-Shirt!

It's Monday so it's another Meet me at Maynards walk.  It is Gary and my 8th time so we will get a T-Shirt!

It is finally light our for most of our walk so I can get pictures of the beautiful neighborhood we pass through

 The walk takes us past the old downtown plaza where the visitor's center used to be.  I always loved this place but it is being torn down.

 We get back to Maynards and while waiting for the awards and prizes to be presented an older couple in Tutus walked by.  My phone camera didn't get a good shot but here it is.  If the Walk takes place on the 22nd of the month, it is 2- 2 day so people where Tutu's

There are 6 of us getting our 8th walk T-Shirts so it is a group shot

 Another person is getting their 200 walk T-Shirt so they get a standing "0"vation!

 The last raffle prize was the $25 gift certificate for The Running Shoe Store and Sandy won!  That makes 2 times our group has won that prize. 

We only have tine for one more walk.  Sandy and Owen will get their T-shirts after 2 more walks.
