Summer 2026 - Kentucky to Nebraska

Oue next stop Kickapoo State recreation area in Illinois  for 1 night.

It's on a nice River/Lake

They have canoe, kayak, tube and fun peddle boats for rent

Would have stayed longer but on a tight time schedule.

Finally back to normal

We even had a normal breakfast

Miles and miles of corn and soybean fields and crop dusters 

We make it to our Tucson Meadows friends, Bill and Barb's house in Iowa for a long awaited reunion.

Didn't get the before picture but under.my lifetime warranty, I redid the Rock I painted 6 years ago.

One more layover before getting to Gary's daughter's in Nebraska.  Adair City Park campground in Iowa, where Jesse James committed the first Train robbery.

Marine Staff Sargent Reckless. Bought in October 1952 for $250 by Marines of the 5th Marine Regiment from a Korean stableboy. He varried heavy 75mm recoilless rifle shells up steep terrain where vehicles couldn't go. He made 51 solo trips in a single day under heavy enemy fire, transporting over 9,000 pounds of ammunition and helped carry wounded soldiers down from the front lines.

In 2018, the Dorman family visited Godolphin’s Gainsborough Farm through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The young foal—later named Cody’s Wish—was the only horse that approached Cody, who was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome and used a wheelchair for mobility. From that first encounter, a lifelong connection was formed.

Former race horses who have lived at the Park are buried here, including Man O' War.

He had a stride of 28 feet
