Trip North - Maine - Bar Harbor

Gary is still feeling under the weather.  I set him 

up with water, tea and some light snacks and take the 

Shuttle Bus into Bar Harbor to mail a package and look around.

Tucson seems to be taking it well.

 We get off at the Village Green in Bar Harbor

 and drop a package off at the Post Office

We head down to the Harbor to walk the .5 miles shore walk.

 and then there are 2 cruise ships in town.

Balance Rock - It is a different nature and color from the other rocks.  It is not indigenous and was left behind by the last ice age 10,000 years ago.  Scientists speculate that it came from 40 miles NW of here.

and back to the Village Green to catch the shuttle bus

Got home and Gary's fever had broken

Trip North - Maine - Camden to Acadia

Gary is sick and I try to convince him to stay one more night in Camden and

go to Acadia tomorrow but he is too stubborn.  

It looks like traffic is all going the other way.

 It isn't very long before I take over the drive, so there were no pictures 

to be had when I drove over the Penobscot Narrows Bridge.  A white knuckle adventure!  Here are a couple of photos I got off the internet.

I guess you can go up to an observation tower 140' up.  Maybe on the way south.

Gary got to sleep through it.

We back into our site and get set up.  Gary lays down
and I take Tucson for a walk.

I come back and I am seeing double!

We're in for the night, hopefully Gary will
feel better tomorrow.

Trip North - Maine - Camden Mt. Battie and Rockport

We start the day with a drive up to Mt. Battie

It's 1 mile up to the top

We head to Rockport to check out the Lighthouse there.

 Gary isn't feeling well so he drops me off and goes to find parking.

It is a 7/8 mile walk out the break-wall to the light.

Tucson is a little more motivated for the return trip

Didn't see anywhere interesting to eat in town so we came back to
this place we passed on the way in.  Must be good - there's a line!

Gary secured a nice spot while I ordered

I ordered the Seafood Trio Salad.  A scoop each of
Lobster, Crab Salad and Shrimp, plus radishes, peas,
broccoli, peppers and tomatoes.

Gary had the Specialty Haddock Sandwich & Fries
