Waynesville, NC - August 2023

A group ride up to Balsam picnic area 

Gary and I did a ride to the Appalachian Highlands Science Learning Center.  Looked like a nice place with hiking trails.

Unfortunately the road was closed for the next 2 miles.

But that didn't stop us!

Finally arrived at the log cabin, rebuilt from wood  from the original

We make it back to the Spyder 

Birthday celebration for Nancy's 94.5 birthday

The sunflowers are doing well this year, because of bees!

Gary's daughter and -in-law made it for a visit.

Gary has his 2nd knee replacement surgery done.

We finish of with a celebration of our friend Norms induction to the Lenoir-Rhyne University Hall of Fame

Start out the month at church service by the Lake

The month is off to a rainy start

LolWe run off to Linville Falls to catch the  Highland Games

 

A great weekend

Went to the Waynesville Street dance and joined in on the circle dance

It's quite the work out,mentally and physically 

A motorcycle ride to see some waterfalls

A trip to Cataloochee Valley to see the Elk

And a girls outing to see Cinderella

Finished the month off with a trip to Dollywood for the Summerfest

In spite of all the rain, we squeezed in lot!
